Boasting the “Greatest Views in Colorado”, great schools and close proximity to the Denver Tech Center, Douglas County is considered the fourth best county in the USA by the American City Business Journal.
Cities/Communities in the county are Highlands Ranch, Parker, Castle Rock and Franktown. Other large subdivisions are The Meadows, Castle Pines North, Founders Village, Canterbury Crossing, Pinery and Stroh Ranch (this is a large and growing county. The list is much longer. It is home to the “International” PGA tournament played at the Castle Pines Golf Club in Castle Pines Village. The county has growing employment opportunities in several office parks to the north but much of the county remains as open range and ranches. Household income in Douglas County is among the highest in Colorado.
The current population is about 180,000. It has been the fastest growing county in the United States for several of the past ten years.
The median price of homes in Douglas County is considerably higher than for the general area due both to the number of higher priced homes sold as well as the homes demanded by the higher income buyers. Some homes are available at under $200,000 and some condominiums at under $100,000.
